The build

Every unit is built
by the same person
who designed it.

AutoHab started as a personal problem: a growing collection of tropical plants that needed more consistent care than a busy life allowed. Eight years later it's a real product, designed and assembled by hand in Kitsap County, Washington State.

If you've come home to a dead plant, skipped a trip worrying about your collection, or always wanted a lush terrarium but never had the time — AutoHab is what you needed.

You're buying directly from the builder. Questions go straight to me.

Common questions

FAQ

What plants work best? +
AutoHab works well with any plant that benefits from consistent humidity, regular watering, and a lighting schedule — tropical plants, orchids, carnivorous plants, ferns, and mosses are all great fits. If you've struggled to keep humidity-loving plants alive, this is built for exactly that.
How hard is setup? +
About 15 minutes. Fill the reservoir, arrange your plants, use the rotary dial to set your watering and misting schedule, and you're done. No app, no Wi-Fi.
Can I customize the schedule? +
Yes, fully. The rotary encoder and OLED display let you set independent schedules for watering, misting, and lighting — including frequency and duration. Settings persist through power cycles. Everything can be set to go quiet overnight for a completely dark and silent mode.
How loud is it? +
The pump makes some noise during active watering or misting cycles. Outside of those cycles, the unit runs silently.
Can I add more units later? +
Yes. AutoHab is modular by design. Units stack cleanly on top of and next to each other, each running independently, so you can expand one unit at a time as your collection grows.
What's the difference between AutoHab 1 and 1.5? +
AutoHab 1 is the full build — glass door enclosure, complete grow chamber, rotary dial controls. AutoHab 1.5 uses roughly half the plastic, has an open-front design, a smaller grow area, and uses push-button controls instead of the rotary dial. Same core automation in a leaner package.
Where is AutoHab made? +
Every unit is designed, assembled, and tested by hand in Kitsap County, Washington State. You're buying directly from the person who built it.
What's the warranty? +
90 days covering parts and labor. If something isn't right, reach out directly and we'll make it right — no runaround.
